D’après un constat, plus d’une fille sur deux de moins de 18 ans, et une sur dix de moins de 15 ans, sont dans un mariage précoce en Guinée, et se retrouvent mères à l’adolescence. Cela entraine des conséquences néfastes pour leur avenir et celui de leurs bébés, notamment en nuisant gravement à leur éducation, leur santé et leur développement général .
Des grossesses précoces et non désirées se font aussi hors mariage menant beaucoup de jeunes filles à être rejetées et bannies par leur famille.
Vulnérables et soumises à l’opprobre, ces jeunes filles-mères finissent souvent abandonnées à elles-mêmes dans des situations précaires et même dangereuses pour leur survie et celle de leur bébé.
